మొహర్రం సంతాప దినాల వెనుక కథ: హిందువులు తెలుసుకోవాల్సిన నిజం
హిందు బంధువులందరికి మనవి: రానున్న రోజుల్లో ముస్లిం ప్రజల సంతాప దినాలు (పీర్ల పండుగ) వస్తున్నాయి. కానీ, హిందు బంధువులు ఈ సంతాప దినాలను తమ దేవతల పండుగలా భావించి మొక్కుబడులు చెల్లిస్తారు. అసలు ఈ పీర్ల పండుగ ఎలా వచ్చింది అని ఒక్కసారి అయినా తెలుసుకునే ప్రయత్నం చేసారా? చాలా మంది పెద్దలు అప్పట్లో అజ్ఞానంతో లేదా అప్పటి పరిస్థితుల వల్ల ఎవరు ఏది చెబితే అలా చేసారు.
ఈ ఆధునిక యుగంలో నిజం తెలుసుకోవడం సులభం. కనుక నిజం తెలుసుకొని ఇన్ని రోజులు మనం చేసిన తప్పును సరిదిద్దుకుందాం. మన పిల్లలకు సరైన మార్గం చూపుదాం.
పీర్ల సంతాప దినాలు
ముస్లిం లోని ఒక తెగ మాత్రమే చేసుకునే ఈ సంతాప దినాలు కొన్ని ప్రాంతాలలో (తెలంగాణ, కర్ణాటక, ఆంధ్ర) మనకు సంబంధం లేకుండా తొమ్మిది రోజులు పండుగగా జరుపుకుంటున్నారు. ఈ సంతాప దినాలు ఇరాక్ లోని కర్బలా మైదానంలో హసన్, హుస్సేన్ మరియు రాజు మధ్య జరిగిన యుద్ధంలో హసన్, హుస్సేన్ చనిపోవడంతో ప్రారంభమయ్యాయి. వారి శవాలను చెరువులో వేయడం, అప్పుడు తొమ్మిది రోజులు సంతాప దినాలు జరపడం జరుగుతుంది.
మొహర్రం ముందు శుక్రవారం నాడు హైదరాబాద్ చార్మినార్ నుండి మదీనా వరకు ముస్లిం లోని ఒక తెగకు చెందిన మగవారు నల్ల దుస్తులు వేసుకుని మౌన ప్రదర్శన చేస్తారు. మొహర్రం నాడు బ్లేడ్లతో శరీరాన్ని కోసుకుంటారు. దీన్ని మాతం అంటారు.
నిజం తెలుసుకోవాలి
మహమ్మద్, హసన్, హుస్సేన్ లకు మనకు ఏమైనా సంబంధం ఉందా? నిజం తెలుసుకొని పీర్ల సంతాప దినాలను మనం పండుగలా చేసుకోవడం అవివేకం. కమ్యూనిస్టులు “అసైదుల హారతి కాళ్ల గజ్జల గమ్మతి” పాటల ద్వారా మనల్ని పిచ్చివాళ్ళను చేసి పీర్ల పండుగ మనదే అన్న భ్రమ కల్పిస్తున్నారు.
మన గ్రామాలలో ఎక్కడికక్కడ పీర్ల పండుగ జరపడం మనకు సంబంధం లేదు. మనం హిందువులుగా దసరా, దీపావళి, ఉగాది, శివరాత్రి, వినాయక చవితి, బతుకమ్మ వంటి పండగలు చేసుకోవడానికి చాలా ఉన్నాయి. వాటిని భక్తిశ్రద్ధలతో, ప్రకృతిని కాపాడుతూ జరుపుదాం.

మన హిందువులందరికీ ఈ విషయాలు అర్థమయ్యేలా తెలియజేస్తారని, చేరవేస్తారని ఆశిస్తున్నాను. జై శ్రీరామ్! జై హింద్!

A message to all Hindu brothers and sisters: In the coming days, the Muslim community will observe the period of mourning known as Muharram. Many Hindus mistakenly view this as a festival and participate in it, offering prayers and vows. Have you ever tried to understand the origin of this period of mourning? Probably not. Our ancestors, either out of ignorance or due to the circumstances of their time, followed practices without questioning them.
In this modern age, we have the means to uncover the truth quickly. Therefore, let’s understand the reality and correct the mistakes we’ve been making all these years. Let’s guide our children on the right path.
The Tradition of Mourning
This period of mourning is observed by a specific sect within the Muslim community. Unfortunately, in regions like Telangana, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh, these mourning days, which have no relevance to our culture, religion, or community, are celebrated as a festival for nine days. This adherence to an irrelevant tradition is a remnant of our subservience.
The Story of Muharram
The origin of Muharram lies in the Battle of Karbala in Iraq, where Hasan and Husayn, grandsons of Prophet Muhammad, were martyred in a battle against the ruling caliph. Their bodies were thrown into a river. Their followers, upon retrieving the headless bodies of Hasan and Husayn, placed them in a nearby mosque and mourned for nine days before returning the bodies to the river on the tenth day. This is the brief history of Muharram.
On the Friday before Muharram, thousands of men from a particular sect of Muslims in Hyderabad, dressed in black, silently march from Charminar to Madina in a sign of mourning. On the eve of Muharram, they inflict cuts on their bodies with blades to commemorate the suffering of Hasan and Husayn, a practice known as Matam.
Understanding the Truth
Do we, as Hindus, have any connection to Muhammad, Hasan, or Husayn? Unfortunately, over time, names like Hasan and Husayn have been altered and adopted by us as if they belong to our culture.
During the rule of the Nizams, atrocities were committed by Kasim Razvi and his followers, leading to the suffering of our Hindu women and men. Despite this, we continue to observe Muharram, a period of mourning unrelated to our heritage, as a festival. This is a sign of our ignorance and naivety. Even today, in many villages, women and children dance and sing around the structures erected for these mourning days.
Communist Influence
Through songs like Asaidula Harathi Kalla Gajjala Gammathi, communists have tried to create a false narrative that Muharram is our festival. They propagate that names like Hasan, Husayn, and Bibi Fatima are ours and thus acceptable for our children. This is an attempt to mislead us.
Spreading Awareness
It’s crucial for us to understand the truth and open our eyes. No Muslim would ever accept prasadam (offering) from a Hindu temple. In today’s challenging times, should we continue the traditions imposed by the Nizam? Therefore, we must clearly communicate to our communities that these mourning days have no connection to us. We have plenty of festivals such as Dussehra, Diwali, Ugadi, Maha Shivaratri, Vinayaka Chaturthi, Bathukamma, and Bonalu, which we can celebrate with devotion and enthusiasm.
Our Responsibility
We must inform and educate the general public about the significance of our festivals and the irrelevance of Muharram to our culture. It’s our minimum responsibility to stop celebrating these mourning days as a festival and to guide our people towards the right practices.
Let’s make an effort to share this message and ensure that we, as Hindus, celebrate our festivals with devotion and pride. Jai Shri Ram! Jai Hind!
